چکیده
Innovation is an integral part of the practice of surgery. It is a concept that many surgeons are familiar with, but many do not fully appreciate the issues surrounding surgical innovation and partnership with industry. Herein, we review key issues and concepts of surgical innovation, industry partnership, and the potential pitfalls that are present. We conclude with principles that every surgeon should maintain when pursuing surgical innovation.
